Beer for Chicks

I thought I'd start out these discussions (and test them out) by asking, what is your favorite beer? Believe me, you don't have to commit to it, and it can change in five minutes, but right now...if you had to choose, what would you say is your favorite beer?

I really enjoyed the Troegs Nugget Nectar and the Westy 12. Both were fantastic beers. I recently had some Jolly Pumpkin and was extremely impressed also.

I would have to say Im a huge fan of Sierra Nevada Pale. It has been my favorite for some time now. I love the hoppiness, bite you back taste! But that is my everyday.... My not so everyday favorites change on a weekly basis! Right now its Flying Dogs Dogtoberfest- And know that will change as the season changes.

I am tragically and hopelessly in love with Dogfish Head's Burton Baton. Tragic because they made so little of it and don't plan on making it again as far as I know. Ahh, unrequited beer love.

Orval is my go-to. Dry, funky, earthy, and a nice 6.9%, damn I love that beer!. Also would love to get another bottle of Jolly Pumpkin's Maracaibo Especial, I love the spice and sour. Russian River Temptation is amazing. Still a big fan of Saison Foret. Racer 5 if I'm feeing hoppy. Wow, I could go on and on.....

I would have to say that currently my favorites are Bell's Two Hearted IPA and Hopslam DIPA. I am also really enjoying O'dells IPA and Lagunitas Dogtown Pale Ale.

Oh how I long for McMenamin's Hammerhead made by the NW brew-chain that is quite possibly my favorite place to drink beer... The smooth, understatedly hoppy brew has nice caramel notes and is refreshing and perfectly balanced. Alas, for me, I'm no longer a NW resident. AZ is not nearly the brew-centric nirvana that was Portland. Northwest Gals, enjoy one for me!

I would definitely say Балтика (baltika) is the best beer ever. They have a range of Балтики in numbers 1-9. Numbers 3 and 4 are typically my choices (3 being a little lighter beer but by no means light, and 4 being a darker beer), though I enjoy them all (esp. dark beer!). Nice, bold, hoppy, smooth, perfect. They have started importing Baltika to most of the states, so definitely give it a try! The alcohol content is 4-8% depending on the number, but the best chance to have the best Baltika ever is to drink it in Russia (with a higher alcohol%) on a nice summer afternoon. :)

I'll have to give a toast to my fair lady the Duchess of Bourgogne :) She's a Flemish Sour Ale, and somehow always works no matter what my mood is :)

Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin Ale - so darn good, especially in October!
